Our Client is a market research & strategy company that offers consumer insight, semiotics, product innovation & strategy consulting. With offices in Tokyo and Shanghai, they work with exciting clients across a number of industries including alcohol, fashion, F&B, luxury and hospitality and their team comes from an array of backgrounds including research, communications, business intelligence, PR and digital marketing.

 

The Role:

We have a very exciting opportunity to join the Shanghai team at an exciting stage in their regional expansion. You will play a key role in helping grow the business and shape the culture of the China office, working closely with the two most senior team members. This an exciting opportunity for someone who wholeheartedly enjoys helping clients grow top brands, is excited about marketing and brand communications, and who is driven to give clients the freshest possible thinking.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day to day client relationship and helping to ensure projects meet high standards
  • Acting as a main point of contact to develop proposals, alongside the senior team
  • Confidently leading and participating in facilitation across different methodologies
  • Taking the lead on debrief writing and supporting other team members in writing
  • Delivering internal and external presentations with an engaging and compelling style
  • Seeking to develop innovative thinking and ways to deliver within the company and to clients
  • Proactively seeking ways to develop existing client relationships and new business opportunities
  • Liaising with different partners to ensure projects run smoothly

 

Requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in the research industry (or broader work experience e.g. strategy)
  • Curious to understand people and the latest trends across brands and cultures
  • Ability to work well in a small team
  • Bright, imaginative thinker
  • Experience in semiotics and cultural understanding would be a bonus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • International-minded and willing to travel for work
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin (able to read and write)
